Are you high school or college-aged and want to complete your sacraments?
For a long time now, the Brooklyn Oratory has offered a very successful program for men and women interested in exploring the Catholic faith more deeply and joining our faith community. More recently we have grown aware of the number of high school and college-aged members of our community, who for various reasons never completed the sacraments of initiation into the Catholic faith (Holy Communion and Confirmation).
The Brooklyn Oratory parishes want to invite these members of our community to become part of the “Blessed Carlo Acutis Program,” aimed at assisting them to continue their faith journey and fully become part of our Catholic Christian community. The program is named for recently beatified, Carlo Acutis, who was noted for his cheerfulness, being a “computer geek,” and for his deep devotion to the Eucharist. He died at the age of 15 from leukemia.
The program will begin on the first Sunday of Lent, February 18, 2024, and continues for 12 Sundays, culminating with full integration into the Church on Pentecost Sunday, May 19, this spring. Small group meetings will be held at one of the Oratory parishes following Sunday Mass and will focus on key tenets of our Catholic faith and how they apply to our daily lives today.
